The Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists (CAVA) is pleased to present Collective Awakenings, a juried show of individual perspectives. Even though we are all going through those same times together, we each have our own separate understanding of the events and how they affect us. Each of us has had to face the questions and struggles brought forward by this turbulent time in our nation's history. Our hope is that your eyes will be opened as you see what we have discovered. Works in all media, and springing from all inspiration, are welcome!
Media Accepted: Drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media, collage, photography, fiber art, and 3D objects (sculpture, and ceramics) that can be wall hung or displayed on pedestals.

Non-members may enter for $30, but must also join CAVA via our JOIN page, and pay the annual membership fee of $50.
ARTWORK SALES AND COMMISSIONS:

From my profile in EntryThingy:

Artist Statement

For the past few years, I have been creating woven bead mosaics in 2D and 3D, and bead installations. Beads allow me the ability to paint with a myriad of colors, transparencies, textures and lusters of light. My work straddles many categories of decorative craft and fine art.

I hope that those who view my work will enjoy the sensuous optical, dimensional, and tactile stimuli that I am presenting in them and experience a sense of wonder.

My work often celebrates artists of any media, nature, climate change, science, space exploration, and visionary art.

Collective Awakenings Statement
For “Collective Awakenings,” I chose to enter “Goldilocks Panopticon” and “Enchanted Spring,” two of my most optimistic and revitalizing pieces. This is the time for everybody to emerge after sheltering and masking from contagion. It is time to get out into the sun and enjoy each other’s company. Finally together, our shared delight is enhanced in the beauty and wonder of the natural world.
